Elon Musk? ... We are the technology
Earlier this week, Elon Musk launched his newest company, Neuralink, which is in the process of developing a “neural lace” technology, meaning that users would be able to communicate directly with machines without using a physical interface. Having run a company for the last ten years which allows a computer to communicate directly with the consciousness of not just individuals but buildings, companies and brands this is not huge news to us.
The use of technology to improve human performance seems a logical step in our development. Whether as crude as a hip replacement or the latest lens technology which can potentially replace our visual capacity with that of an eagle, the desire to improve our performance seems innate to us all. Musk's idea is not new and there is already advanced research which looks to implant nano technology in the cortex in such a way as to allow direct access to the cloud. How easy would those exams be if you had google in your forehead?
What should set alarm bells ringing is the question as to who controls the information in the cloud.
When developing the Creative Space Programme our priority was always to ensure the information flow was dictated by the consciousness of the individual rather than an agenda programmed by the developer. Our intention was to create a space which allows the fullest expression of the individual. I should imagine the agendas behind most of these emerging technologies are more directed toward consumption, profit and control of some nature....Google used to use the line "Do no evil" but their world thrives on inversion.
In our society controlling information is everything. We have seen this play out in the "fake news" arguments as those in the mainstream media have lost control of the narrative, if only temporarily, and are busily trying to regain control of the "truth". Imagine a world with Rupert Murdoch and the like deciding what you think, although some would argue that is what we already have, a direct line to your brain is surely a step too far.
Fortunately, humanity is blessed with a piece of equipment sadly absent in Elon Musk's vision, and that is the Heart. In the course Stability in an Unstable World (still available free on the website) I described the heart as the truth resonator, and I believe that our hearts are the most important filter of information at this moment in time. Our minds, and associated emotions are easily swayed and often overwhelmed by the information which is repeatedly presented.
By thinking with our heart we can access our personal truth and maintain a sovereignty which the egoic survival based processing is only too willing to cedeto ensure its own existence. The heart is not an arbiter of an absolute truth (if there is one) but it certainly resonates with our divine expression. Once we truly begin to think with our hearts we will access a level of capability and performance beyond the imagination of the technology nerds and their venture capital buddies.
I get the sense that Elon and his crew are looking in the wrong place. I've said it before and I will say it again...We are the technology...lets start using it.
Much love
Bill
