Still Waiting

Still waiting

2012 came and went. The economic collapse is still waiting to happen. The secrets of Antarctica are remaining stubbornly secret. The second coming is still on its way. 

This shift in consciousness is certainly taking its time! The earliest of the preppers are checking the use buy dates on their dried food and countless numbers of world weary new agers are wishing their days away certain that unity is just around the corner.

Focussing attention on the external for evidence of a shift is a common and easy trap to fall into. (I know I have wasted many hours in that trap!) Spiritual teaching after spiritual teaching implore us to go inside and in the words of Gandhi be the change we wish to see in the world. 

If you wish for peace find the peace in yourself. Don't watch the news and shake your head at the state of the world. instead become aware of how you are at war with yourself. Notice how your inner dialogue is nearly always in resistance to something, most commonly yourself. 

The external chaos is simply a reflection of our internal chaos. Have some compassion for yourself and you may start to notice it showing up in your external. If you are waiting for the world to be OK before you can, you will be waiting for a long time.

Instead of still waiting just be still.
