This time it is personal

Are you bored of the noise? Trump, Brexit, Clinton, Terrorism, Putin or whatever the latest blast of nonsense is being broadcast. Set the frequency dial to confusion, fear and separation on the BBC, CNN or whoever and broadcast away! I am amazed at how many people have become totally emotionally absorbed in the "debate" and the projection of fear, adding to the emotional impetus which is being dictated by a media that anyone with an ounce of critical thinking recognizes to be propagating fear.

In fact even me writing about it is adding to the energy and so I will redirect this piece toward something far more fundamental which is happening. Something which the fear broadcasts and divisive information is designed to keep you away from.

Forget all the horror stories and the nightmare scenarios being presented daily by the controllers. They are distractions designed to keep us from our true power. They are diversions from a phenomenon which scares the crap out of the scaremongers. The real news is the journey upon which so many have consciously, or organically, embarked upon. It takes much more courage than picking sides in an irrelevant debate.

That journey is your personal awakening.

Personal and individual realization is the catalyst which shifts the collective consciousness to a level well beyond the reach of the broadcasters. Those sincerely engaged in the pursuit of personal truth will not be distracted by the noise, for that noise is just an expression of the illusion which their inquiry exposes.

I would agree that 2016 has been a really challenging year but not because of events portrayed in another shocking news bulletin or election result. It has been really tough for many at a deeply personal level as their individual growth and their awakening dredges through the files which for so long have been locked away in the "far too difficult to look" at drawer. It is not the state of the world which is so disquieting, however unpleasantly it is portrayed, it is the contents of that drawer which are demanding to be seen.

This time it is personal!

I am constantly amazed and inspired by people's bravery as they pick up the mirror one more time and dive right into what David Whyte describes as their 'personal well of grief'. Jim Self would repeatedly advise people that when transitioning to higher states of consciousness "you can't take your baggage with you". Our baggage too often becomes our identity, and stripping away that identity to create a deeper more honest intimacy with our essence is a tricky game.

The mind, with the purest of motives, is a master at diverting us from the source of our real pain. To protect us from hurt, shame or embarrassment it weaves a story which functions like a wall in defense of our naked vulnerable truth. This storybecomes our identity. (It's ironic that another person's wall, designed to protect an identity, is causing so much argument).

It maybe easy to have compassion for another willing to explore their depths. Often, when given the space to express that pain or fear, it is puzzling as to how their particular 'confession' or realisation could have created so much stress and exercised such a hold on them. Sadly, that compassion is often less-available in our own self-inquiry. Of course we regard our own pain as totally logical and our stress is much more explicable or 'real' than others. Paradoxically we are just as likely to dismiss our own fears as being just silly or not worth bothering about, just as our parents may have said.

If it is hard at the moment be really gentle with yourself. Try not to be distracted. To externalise is natural, easy and obvious particularly at the moment, but forget all the noise and be ready to forgive yourself as readily as you would forgive others.

Your personal courage serves the collective well at this time.

Much Love

Bill
