Your Story or His?
In the early days of aCREATIVEspace a very prescient friend of Tracy's suggested that she journal her experiences because as she neared her "destination" she would have very little interest in her past.
That advice reminded me of the opening line in The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle: I have little use for the past and I rarely think about it. That simple phrase makes more and more sense the further this shift in consciousness deepens. As we move individually and collectively to a higher plane of thought and interaction the past makes less sense and has little if any relevance.
When operating from the old paradigm survival consciousness the past is a useful point of reference for our cause and effect processing. At that level our mind acts like a super-fast google. Type lion into your search engine (your mind) and the top result is likely to be run. Of course the reply may differ from person to person and is largely dependent upon the programming the mind has been subject to. Apparently American dentists type lion into their search engine and the reply is shoot!
The most powerful people in our recent history realised that the secret of success is to control the way people reply to a given input. One of the greatest influences on the development of the 20th Century was Edward Bernays who wrote “The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society" and perhaps more tellingly “Men (people) are rarely aware of the real reasons which motivate their actions.”
The awakening that so many people are experiencing at the moment could be described as the opposite of Bernays' observation. The most obvious indicator of someone's degree of awakening is the extent to which they are aware of the real reasons which motivate their actions.
The world of Bernays creates an illusion of freedom...freedom to consume, freedom of choice, freedom to vote, freedom to think....so long as the freedom is confined to the programming dictated by whichever is the controlling influence, be it the church, the government, the family, the club, the school, the peer group. This is why every nation teaches its own version of history, so that we remember who to fear, who to hate and how to respond (usually with violence). Most education is a process of conditioning the response an entry to the search engine provides. History repeats itself because its programmed to.
True freedom lies beyond the programming and within the awareness to act from a conscious motivator. The once rare ability to respond from conscious awareness rather than conditioned programming is becoming more and more evident. As increasing numbers of people act from the reality of the moment as they perceive it so others are able to move beyond their conditioning. In this space there is no need for history. Equally there is no desire to explain. The truth is evident in the moment, not in the past.
The shift in consciousness is a shift in motivators. From survival to abundance. From the conditional to the unconditional. From fear to love.
What is motivating your actions in each moment? Choose consciously as that will inform your experience faster than you could have ever imagined.
